Your state, your preceptor, handled

Chamberlain's practicum is completed where you live, under your state's rules for nurse practitioners. Pick your state for how practice authority, the Board of Nursing, and preceptor placement work there.

Questions

Answered.

Do you place Chamberlain students in every state?

Yes. We match preceptors and complete site paperwork in all 50 states. Each state page covers its practice-authority rules, its Board of Nursing, and how placement works there.

Does my practicum follow Chamberlain's rules or my state's rules?

Both. Chamberlain sets the program requirements, such as the five 125-hour practicum courses for the MSN-FNP, while your state governs NP licensure and scope. Your preceptor must hold a license that fits your state and specialty.

Can my preceptor be in a different state than mine?

Usually your practicum happens where you are licensed and living, and telehealth rules add nuance. Tell us your state and program in a free placement review and we will map what works.
